Silver Lining

I'm in love.

with Rilo Kiley.

My friend Autumn commented on a picture of me on my Myspace and said I looked like a little Jenny Lewis.
I had to Google Jenny Lewis, and discovered she's the lead singer of the indie group Rilo Kiley.
So of course I had to find some of their songs.
And now I'm in love.
So you should listen to them.
Funny thing is, I really do look a lot alike Jenny Lewis...

Today I decided a few things...

Today I decided that I'm going to attempt to walk slower when I'm not actually in a hurry. Do you know how many times someone has said to me, "why do you walk so fast?!" My bad, I have small legs! I have to take five shorter steps to keep up with your two long strides, it's not my fault you ended up with long legs. I don't think I walk all that fast, it's normal to me, but then again maybe college students just walk slower and I've yet to catch on.

I also decided to start a blog. Obviously. I'm not sure what compelled me to do so though. We were having a discussion about Norwegian Wood in English today, it's a coming-of-age story about a Japanese college boy who thinks of himself as nothing remarkable in any way, and my brain started to ramble and I came to the conclusion that the only way I'm going to get these insane ramblings out of my head is to put them down, but seeing as I have enough writing to do being in college, a blog is a much better idea.

However, I have no idea who is going to read this blog, but that's fine with me.

If you are reading this though, and you don't know me, you're probably wondering who I am.
This is who I am:
My name is Camille, and I love my name.
I'm 4'11" with no realistic hope of getting any taller, I accepted this years ago.
I'm a freshmen at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wa. and I adore college life.
I am the oldest of four children and my parents are still together, which these days is a blessing since divorce has become kind of a fad.
I want to be a kindergarten teacher, but I'm majoring in English (literature) with an undergrad in Elementary Ed.
I have big emotions.
I'm optimistic, independant, outspoken and a little crazy.
I am who I am and that's all.

"...creating chaos and uproar wherever she went. divorced as many times as she married, she leaves only good wishes behind." - Edie Sedgewick

I wouldn't call Edie Sedgewick an idol of mine, since she died of a drug overdose, but I do think she is absolutely fascinating.
